This winter we will explore the skiing and snowboarding resorts in the Pyrenees. As the little brother of the Alps, the Pyrenees aren´t that well known as a skiing destination in Europe as their big brother. That is why we will give some extra attention to the resorts that are to be found in the Pyrenees, that hide some gems for wintersportactivities.

To kick off our exploration through the Pyrenees we went to Pas de la Casa in Andorra, from which we ventured into the skiresort Grandvalira.

Mayrhofen: party capital of the Zillertal

Austria, with it’s racing and party tradition is a destination that provides more then just nice descents! And Mayrhofen, one of it’s most visited villages in winter, is a village where you can find it all: fresh pow, fast and well maintained lifts, access to a big ski / snowboard area and many opportunities for après ski when the lifts are closed

Fresh Powder visited Zermatt and what a fairytale village this resort is! When talking about a winter wonderland resort then Zermatt fits the picture. Located below the impressive Matterhorn and surrounded by the most mountain tops above 4000 meters in Europe (38) this is a destination you have to have on your bucket list. In Zermatt you can find it all: great powder, fast slopes, the longest decent in Europe (25 km), many great restaurants and a steep black run right under the characteristic top of the Matterhorn and a vibrant night scene during the holiday season.
